Hi Everyone,

Several folks have asked me in the last couple of weeks when
I might be able to host another Group purchase for these ignition wires.
Therefore, the Fourth Group Purchase for the Holley Ignition Wires is now open.
These wires have specific design features for the high heat environment of our trucks,
like extra insulation at key points and metal heat shields mounted on several of the plug boots.
For those of you that might have missed this link on previous postings, there are excellent (as usual ....)

Now for the fine print.... The design and construction of these wires is the same as the wires
that were given away last year at KC. Those wires were promotional marketing samples,
and Holley has decided not to offer the wires for general sale to the public.
Through a contact within the company that manufactured those wires for Holley,
I am able to special order them for group purchase. However,
I must place orders for them in groups of at least twenty sets.
For trademark protection reasons, these wires will differ slightly in appearance from the wires
shown on Richard's site. The spark plug boots may be red or black,
and the wires will not be labeled with the "Holley" brand nor will they be packaged in a
"Holley" box. The metal boot insulators shown in the pictures will be included.

Now is a great time to get in on a set of these wires while you are making
plans for your annual spring tune-up.

簡単に説明すると、このプラグワイヤーは
通常の Holley 製プラグワイヤー(9mm芯)のブーツ部分に特別なSyTy用耐熱プレートを取り付けたモノです。
　
メール本文にもある"metal heat shields"を取り付ける理由としては、
まあ全てのクルマに当てはまる事なのですが、
他のアメ車に比べて特にSycloneやTyphoonは、
通常のSトラックのエンジンに加給機(ターボ)が標準で追加されていて、
それ故へダースやプラグワイヤーの取り回しの為のスペースが限られていたり、それらが複雑な為
プラグワイヤーがへダースやエンジンブロック等から受ける熱の影響は甚大で、
よくありがちなワイヤーのブーツ自体や、コアの損傷を受けるという事態をなるべく回避する為です。

ただ、Mr.Richard Leのサイトにあるワイヤーの入っている箱にはHolleyの商標が入っていますが、
これはその箱のラベルに"Special Manufacuture"と銘打っている通り、
Holleyによる市場の需要調査の為、特別に仕上げた初期ロットのモノであって、
その後Holleyは、一般販売をせず個別に企業やグループ等からの注文に応じるという
受注生産の形を取る事を決定した為それらワイヤーの箱にはHolleyの商標は入ってないとメール本文にあり、
2001年9月5日自宅に届いたワイヤーが入っている箱も、以下の写真の通り真っ白でしたが、
箱の横にはMr.Richard Leのモノと同じ様な "Special Manufacture" のシールが貼られてありました。

ワイヤーを取り出してみたのが、下の写真です。

特に熱処理を施さなければならない5本のブーツ部分には、
しっかりと耐熱プレートが取り付けられているのは勿論のこと、
そのブーツ部分からワイヤーにかけても丁寧にしっかりと赤い耐熱シートが巻かれています。
